7 months old today...

My baby girl is 7 months old today! I am in shock at how quickly time is flying by and by how she is learning something new each day. Yesterday she discovered daddy's Plasystaion controler :)

She left him a little baby drool

4th of July 2011

This 4th of July was rather relaxing and full of quality family time. It was just the way I wanted to spend Madisyn's first 4th. Sunday night we went to some friends house to light off a few fireworks. I was very surprised at how well she did with all the loud noises. After about 45 mins of watching fireworks she had had enough and drifted off to sleep in my arms. I have a feeling she is going to be a sound sleeper like her momma. When I was little I could sleep through anything. You better believe if I was tired I would find a shoulder to lean on and drift to sleep no matter what was going on around me.

Growing up my family was always at the coast riding quads for the 4th. This year we stayed home and have decided on a new tradition. This year we decided to walk the Butte to Butte (Spencers Butte to Skinners Butte), in hopes it would jump start my motivation to start working out and lose all this pregnancy weight. So, Monday morning we woke up early and headed for the starting line, my mom (Grammy), Madisyn and I. We finished the 4.5 mile walk in 1 hour 6 minutes and 16 seconds. Not too shabby :) It was a great bonding experience for all of us and we plan to do it again next year.

She was hungry and ready to be out of the stroller.

day 1 of many

I have decided to start a blog as a way to document what new adventures and challenges motherhood has brought me. Madisyn is exactly 6 months and 16 days old today and growing way too fast! I figured creating a blog would be a great way to document and share all the wonderful memories that sometimes get forgotten in this fast paced adventure called life. I thought it would be a wonderful gift that I could give to her when she gets older and let her read about what life was like for her as a baby and how much joy she brings to everyone around her. It's also a good outlet for me to share my thoughts, frustrations and opinions. Hope you enjoy reading and I will do my best at keeping you updated frequently. I am very blessed to have such a beautiful, smart and healthy baby girl. I love you with all my heart Madisyn Rae!
